    Hi guys,

I am looking into getting a cow in the next month or so, I currently own goats and sheep but I have a real passion for cattle.

This may sound like a really simple question but I have read so much conflicting articles online and in books.

Is it okay to keep a single cattle?
Are they okay to be alone with sheep?

    Thanks

If you got good fences it's no problem having just one cow. If you have sheep the cow will stay around them. Many people run cows and sheep together it's supposed to be good for your pastures because the sheep will eat the stuff cows won't

Watch calf feed don't let sheep eat witch you probably already know.we have two katahdin wethers in with our calves so when we feed calf starter we put the sheep up in a stall. You could do opposite

Double check your minerals that they are safe for both sheep and cows.

Don't sheep carry a disease that kill cattle if caught? Huge outbreak a few years ago here in Washington.. I would watch out for that..
