We had a calf born breech 4 days ago. Mama died but, baby was okay. We got her a full bottle of colostrum within 3 hours of her birth. I started her the next day on 2 bottles a day made with 8 oz of milk replacer in each bottle. That night she was VERY constipated... would let out a clearly pained beller with each push... and took lots of pushes to get it all out. So, I did some research and talked to our vet. Moved her to 3 bottles a day but, with less milk replacer in each... she gets approximately 16 oz of milk replacer per day. Now, we are on day 4 and she had diarrhea with streaks of blood in it.
What do I do? More milk replacer? Less? Go back to less feedings? More feedings?
