One of my calfs has a broken tail he is a steer and we are going to eat him he has had it since birth and has never worried him but should I take him to the vet or just leave him with it
It will always be crooked. It's not that uncommon of an injury especially in the dairy industry. It's been this long, as long as it isn't bothering him I'd leave him be.
Do you know how it got broke?
No reason to worry with the tail if he isn't slaughtered by spring may wanna keep fly dust on him regularly as he may not be effective with it. But nothing to worry about.
