Hello so we have a cow that is producing milk and a calf that is definetly sucking as I witness that every day but the calf looks as thin as it did on day one. The cow and calf are on their own in a pen separated from the herd.
It was a weak calf so I gave it a vitamin/ protein syringe paste to the back of the tongue in the first few hours and some colostrum in the first six hours and it was sucking the mother by day 2 (if not before)
Sorry photos won't upload but suffice to say it looks as if it hasn't fed at all, can't see any evidence of scours, any advice please?
