Yesterday at day-break on a very cold (-24 F) morning I was feeding the cows when I noticed a very young (3 day old) calf laying on its side and covered in frost. At first I thought it had died overnight but when I picked the poor little thing up I noticed shallow breathing and in a near-panic I brought it inside and put it in the calf warmer for a few hours. It slowly came back to life and now is up and walking around but looking very thin. I have been able to feed it very small amounts of milk replacer via syringe but I cannot get it to feed from a bottle. Anyone have ideas on how to get it to accept a bottle?
