Feeding shredded beet pulp to dairy cows

We have a very small establishment of 2 milking cows. They are thin and our breeder recommended feeding beet pulp. We just started this and our brown Swiss is having some diarrhea. Does anyone have experience with beetnpulp feed and amounts? Thanks

We mixed a little in our jerseys feed last year. We put water in it first so it would swell up before she ate it.

Just buy a good 16% Dairy Ration, and feed that, it's formulated specifically for dairy cattle. Our brown Swiss get 10 pounds Per milking, per cow.
