When I gently push on the lump it pops back up in his belly. Doesn't seem to hurt him much and other than this he is very healthy and eating and drinking well. I have an appointment to take him to the vet tomorrow.

Looks like it.
We usually wrap it up like a belt. Push his intestines in and wrap tight enough that it stays in. Sometimes elasticon helps as the sticky holds it in place. Be sure to leave his sheath exposed so he can still urinate.
Once it's on the hole the intestines are coming threw will heal. Can take a few weeks depending on the size of the hole.
Otherwise costly surgery is another option.
Let us know what the vet says.
