ha Did you weight him? He's got a 4month old head on him already.
Congratulations on the addition

That's $500 here right now!
Congrats on the nice calf! Holstein?
Thank you jbardellini and DoubleR! Yes a little Holstein. The head probably looks big due to the camera angle and the way he is holding his head. Trust me it didn't look that big in person. Sold him right away and never did weigh him. He went to a good home with a lady who lives to raise calves.
That's great! Do you milk her for yourself?
No we do not milk our cattle. We are cattle buyers.
Ah! Gotcha! Very cool!
So why calve out a Holstein and not milk her nor keep the calf?
We buy cattle to feed and slaughter not milk. The calf was sold and the cow was sent to a packing house. When we bought her the owner must not have known she was pregnant and neither did we.
@RanchWife like DoubleR said that's $500 right there plus what the cow makes in the meat...
Congratulations on your new Holstein, it's always a good feeling to have a new calve in your farm. Sometimes I feel the cattle also feel the excitement.
