I raise registered Angus. I maintain a registered black Simmental cow as a source of show calves for my kids. I've been impressed by some of the Simmental/Angus X calves growth. I've only eaten one calf that was both Simmental and Angus. I am wondering if anyone has seen any data on marbling in Simmental and Simgus crosses? And any links to that data. I'm considering trying a Simmental bull and seeing what happens.
Here is some info http://www.simmental.com.au/download_forms/05_Marty Ropp talk_Abbrev.pdf Article from Australia but research from your part of the world. Most simangus bulls have epds for marbling. Guess could select a simm bull based on marbling?
Well I traded for another registered Simmental heifer. Now I have three Simmental females with my Angus herd.
