Hello all, my name is Luke and I'm from northeast Texas. My wife and I just bought 70 acres and are looking to raising a few beef cattle. We really like the British White breed but will probably start off with what we can find locally since prices are so high.
Our big obstacle is we both have careers that we are not ready to leave yet as we are both around 30 and neither of us grew up around this type of thing. This is hopefully building our retirement place as we grow and learn. That being said we will have to do most of the work on the weekends as the land is about an hour away from our house and we work in the opposite direction. I've enjoyed reading everyone else's comments and concerns since we are just getting started and don't know much about it.
