I have been taking care of cows for a while now at my friends farm however they usually get sent somewhere else to continue their growth to adult hood from about 4-5 months of age and we were thinking of keeping a few to raise ourselves. What specifically would they need to grow big and healthy this is a dairy cow. Obviously space and pasture but what kind of vitamins and nutrients would she need and what would need to be added to her diet?

Hello, I have never owned dairy cows, but we own dual-purpose (cattle used for either meat or dairy) cattle. I wouldn't know much about adding to diet for a healthy diary cow, so just make sure they get fresh pasture grass and a lot of grain, as well as alfalfa or timothy mix hay. BUT, remember, you have to breed these heifers at around 14 months and wait 9 months for the calf, and then you will have milk cows.

Just know, as I stated above, I have never owned dairy cattle. I may have said something contradictory or something someone else may disagree with.
