Hi I thought I would get a chat goin about speckle park cattle because I know a lot of people haven't heard of them. The breed was developed in Saskatchewan Canada
Yea they are beef animals. They have a bit of shorthorn in them to add more milk they are easy goin cattle low birth weights good weaning weights and like I said they fatten up faster in feedlots
If you want more info on them or a list of producers go to www.canadianspecklepark.ca kinda a neat breed with good weaning weights and temperament with added color bonus
They look a lot like Randal Linebacks, except maybe the speckled cows heads aren't as linear as the Linebacks. Randall Linebacks are a rare Dairy breed from New England that seem to throw a pretty good carcass too
Haven't had a problem with them. All the bulls I have dealt with have been good and cows nice quite easy to handle calves around. Of course there is the odd spazz but every breed has one or two of those.
Speckle Park are a combination of the genetics of three breeds from England and Scotland:
Teeswater Shorthorn
Aberdeen Angus
English cattle with the white park pattern
There are a few bad apples out there. Just stay true to your dreams and you'll succeed
