Does anyone know what these spots are on my cows leg? Noticed they started to appear about 2 weeks ago. Hoping someone has first hand experience with their cows and knows what it is, something to be concerned about, what treatment if needed, etc? She is 2 yr old zebu. Gave her 8 way shot last week as it was overdue. Otherwise she looks healthy and don't see any other issue.

They almost look like boils...Are they scabby or do they have pus?
My guess is some type of external parasite or a fungus (like rain rot in horses).
Is that a tick ~4 inches up her left leg???


Not 100% sure, send a picture to your vet with a thorough description (bloody, has pus, scab-like, just dark spots on hair) and hopefully you will get an answer back without a vet visit.

Yeah not scabby or puss. Just black spots but like hair is loss in those spots as well. Appreciate the feedback. Will do on contacting vet, just had him out right before these showed up. Definitely will hope no visit. Thanks again
